In the past three years, the Richmond Tree Stewards have planted 45 shade trees in Petronius Jones Park for future generations to enjoy. The trees were provided by grant from Altria and the Dennis Family Fund.
This Thursday, July 23rd, Richmond Tree Stewards will be leading a guided tour of the trees starting at 7pm. We will meet on the corner of Idlewood & Allen. This is a great opportunity to learn about the need for biodiversity among our trees and all the benefits that urban trees provide us.
The Tree Stewards have continued to care for these trees by watering them during the hot summer months. If you are interested in volunteering to help with the watering, please contact us at randolphrva@gmail.com.
