Celebrating African-American Heritage at VCU

VCU will celebrate Black History Month with a variety of events throughout February that are meant to provoke thought and conversation. All of the events will be free and open to the public, though registration may be required for certain events. Here are the events this week!

Diversity Scholars Research Week

FLASH performance – a collaboration in hip hop and butoh, created and performed by Rennie Harris and Michael Sakamoto
Date: Feb. 21 , Time: 2 PM, Location: Grace Street Theater

Master class with Akram Khan for VCU dance majors (open to limited number of observers)
Date: Feb. 22, Time: 11 AM – 1 PM, Location: VCU Dance Depot Annex Studio, behind 814 W. Broad St.

FLASH final performance

African-American Read-in
